Entering the container manufacturing industry in 2005, Dong Fang International Containers (DFIC) is a professional container manufacturing platform of China Cosco Shipping Corporation Limited, and it is directly under COSCO Shipping Development Co., Ltd (A + H listed company) which is under SASAC. The company specializes in the production, R&D, sales and after-sales service of containers, and is an important link in the group’s whole industry chain of container transportation, manufacturing, logistics and leasing.
Headquartered in Shanghai, DFIC has set up three container manufacturing plants from north to south in Jinzhou of Liaoning Province, Lianyungang of Jiangsu Province, and Nansha of Guangzhou, as well as a sales company in Hong Kong as the external sales and financing platform.
On August 2, 2019, COSCO Shipping Finance Holding Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of COSCO Shipping Group, wholly acquired the three core container manufacturing plants of Singamas Container Holdings Limited, and then fully entrusted the management to DFIC.
From them on, DFIC has owned 6 container manufacturing plants from south to north in Nansha of Guangzhou, Ningbo of Zhejiang , Qidong of Jiangsu, Qingdao of Shandong, Lianyungang of Jiangsu, and Jinzhou of Liaoning. The places of delivery cover all major ports in China. Meanwhile, relying on the global transportation network of COSCO, it can provide value-added services of global port delivery for customers of world-famous liner companies and major container rental companies.
The company has achieved a dry container capacity of more than 1.2 million TEU and a cold container capacity of more than 120,000 units. Its products cover standard dry containers, cold containers and most special containers. The capacity scale and market share of dry and cold containers rank second in the industry.
